A recent inspection of a step down transformer highlighted an issue using the ultrasound camera. This inspection was done by an untrained and inexperienced technician using the SonaVu™. It was conducted outside the fenced transformer area, approximately 25M from the transformer. Using the zoom on a normal phone camera identified discolored oil in one of the bushings. Further investigation is pending. This a an example how easy the SDT SonaVu™ ultrasound camera can be easily and successfully used in the field. Safety is never compromised.
